Here you will find deciduous forests, coniferous forests, heathlands, grass plains and drifting sand landscapes with the associated unique flora and fauna. The Hoge Veluwe National Park
The base of this route is the esdorp Otterlo. This green village is located on the edge of the vast forests of De Hoge Veluwe. From Otterlo you can walk to the Hoge Veluwe National Park Visitor Center in no time. Here you can get more information about all the activities that take place in the park and you can purchase your ticket for your visit to the nature reserve. The area is maintained and protected with the money from the entrance tickets. In the visitor center you can also learn more about the nature, culture and history of the national park. For example, take a look at the night hall and see what the park looks like at sunrise and sunset.
Hunting lodge St. Hubertus
You will find St. Hubertus hunting lodge in the middle of the national park. This route takes you past this former country residence of the Kröller-Müller couple. The hunting lodge was built between 1916 and 1920 and it is one of the most important monuments in the Netherlands. The house was designed by the famous architect Hendrikus Petrus Berlage.
