Tour of Weerselo and Almelo

From Weerselo you make a beautiful trip through the Twente countryside. On car-free roads you cycle through a landscape of ash trees, streams and forests. South of Almelo you come through the Nijreesbos, a deciduous forest with long lanes. You cycle to the city centre, here you see many old buildings. You also pass Huize Almelo, a house dating from 1652. Over the beautiful Gravenallee you cycle back into the countryside. You cycle a stretch along the rippling water of the canal that connects Almelo with the German Nordhorn. Further on you pass B&B Sagenland/De Huiskamer van Sagenland. At the weekend you can get off here for a coffee with homemade cake. Finally, along the canal you cycle to 't Stift, a picturesque historical spot.
