Tour of Weerselo and Almelo

From Weerselo you can take a beautiful trip through the Twente countryside. You cycle on car-free roads through a landscape of ash trees, streams and forests. South of Almelo you pass through the Nijreesbos, a deciduous forest with long avenues. You drive to the city center, where you will see many old buildings. You will also pass Huize Almelo, a building dating from 1652. You cycle over the beautiful Gravenallee back into the countryside. You cycle for a while along the rippling water of the canal that connects Almelo with the German Nordhorn. Further on you pass B&B Sagenland & Theehuis Het Zoete Zusje. At the weekend you can stop here for a coffee with homemade cake. Finally, you drive along the canal to't Stift, a picturesque historic spot.
