It is nice to walk in and around Winssen. At the departure point you will see the St. Anthony of Padua Church from 1938, which was built according to the Delft School. To the right of it is a church tower from the fifteenth century. Then you take a tour through the floodplains along the Waal. In the distance you can see the Tacitus Bridge with its characteristic cables. Just before you walk back into Winssen, you will see a monumental dike warehouse from 1910 on your left. After a short cut through the village, you walk into the countryside. On mostly car-free roads you walk past fruit orchards, grasslands and regional farms. You will also pass the Geertjesgolf, a sand extraction and nature reserve. The last part of the route you walk through the floodplains again. At De Arend you can enjoy a delicious meal.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
