Cycling route Stokkum and Markelo

First you cycle into the forests at the foot of the Herikerberg. A wonderful start to a route that is mainly about nature and tranquility. You cycle to Stokkum via cycle paths and car-free roads. Part of this village enjoys a protected village view. When you cycle along the Stokkumerweg, you understand why: thanks to the beautiful old farms it seems as if you are cycling back in time. Further on, the route takes you along the Schipbeek. This river rises in Germany and flows into the IJssel at Deventer. Just before junction 20 you cross the Bolksbeek: a watercourse that forms the border between Overijssel and Gelderland here. In Markelo you pass the Hoop, a beautiful corn mill from 1839. The route ends at Vakantiepark Buitencentrum Hessenheem.
