Cycling along the IJssel: Deventer, Terwolde and Olst

Cycling along the IJssel is wonderful. You will find plenty of natural beauty and historical towns. Such as the well-preserved Hanseatic city of Deventer. The old town hall and the centuries-old Lebuinus church are located at the Grote Kerkhof. You cross the IJssel by ferry, don't forget to look back to enjoy the view. In the IJssel valley you will pass a number of beautiful country houses. Huize Hunderen dates from the seventeenth century, as does De Parckelaer further on. Just outside Welsum you will see Houdt Braef Stant, a corn mill from 1856. You cross the IJssel again, after which you cycle through Olst. At junction 72 you will pass Groot Hoenlo: a manor house whose history dates back to the thirteenth century. At the Vrienden van Diepenveen you can have a nice meal.
