Cycling along the IJssel: Deventer, Terwolde and Olst

Cycling along the IJssel is beautiful. You will find plenty of natural beauty and historic places. Such as the well-preserved Hanseatic city of Deventer. The old town hall and the centuries-old Lebuinus Church are located at the Grote Kerkhof. You can cross the IJssel on a ferry, but don't forget to look back to enjoy the view. In the IJsselvallei you will pass a number of beautiful country houses. Huize Hunderen dates from the seventeenth century, just like De Parckelaer, located further away. Just outside Welsum you will see Houdt Braef Stant, a flour mill from 1856. You cross the IJssel again, after which you cycle through Olst. At junction 72 you pass Groot Hoenlo: a manor whose history dates back to the thirteenth century. You can enjoy something to eat at the Friends of Diepenveen.
