Anyone who knows Twente knows that it has a beautiful scenic landscape that is wonderful for cycling. For those who are not yet familiar with Twente, this is a good reason to get to know it.
Did you know that there are several mountains in Twente? These belong to the moraine complex Enschede-Oldenzaal and were created when land ice from Scandinavia pushed up sand, clay and other material millions of years ago. The mountains have become more hilly over the years due to erosion, but pushing the bike further is not superfluous. Stop between all those mountains for a walk in the beautiful nature reserves of Lutterzand and Egheria.
Alternate nature with a visit to the Basilica of Saint Plechelmus and the Treasury in Oldenzaal. Various relics and ecclesiastical objects are kept in this treasury of the basilica. Do you still have strength left to climb the tower?
