Walk through Wassenaar

Your route starts at the Stal den Hollander farm shop. From here you can walk straight into stately Wassenaar, known for its monumental villas and estates. You also walk into Wassenaar itself, where you visit the Village Church. This Dutch Reformed church on the Square dates from the beginning of the 12th century. Back then it was still a tuff church. Around 1450 there was a real church, but it was largely destroyed during the Spanish period (16th century). The tower and the two-aisled nave were later rebuilt. In the park-like surroundings of Wassenaar you will pass some beautiful buildings. On the outskirts of Wassenaar you will find the Vreeburg estate, here is a white plastered tower from the 19th century with a house built against it in 1986.
