Wet nature route

This walking route takes you through Overtoom-Middelveen. This small-scale nature reserve offers peaceful walks along wet grasslands. So make sure you have good walking shoes, because the path can sometimes be a bit damp. And take binoculars with you if necessary. There is a bird watching hut near the start and end point. You can spot various meadow birds here, such as the lapwing and godwit. From junction 48 the scenery changes, because you also pass some arable fields and grasslands. Here you also pass the Maatgraven, a stream that was dug by hand in 1917 for water management. As you walk along the Zeggeweg, you will see wet grasslands on your right. You can walk back to Buiteninn Het Overveen at your leisure. You can have a drink and something to eat here on Saturdays.
