Description
Between Boxmeer and Overloon you can cycle quietly through the Brabant countryside. You will find plenty of natural beauty here, but also cultural history. Just after boarding, you will pass De Nepomukkapel from 1737. It is one of the outbuildings of Boxmeer Castle, which is located at the end of Veerstraat. Then you drive to Vierlingsbeek. On the left of the road you look out over the rippling Maas, on the right you see the Maasheggen landscape. Hedge weaving was already practiced in Roman times. Julius Caesar described his annoyance about it, it took him a lot of effort to pass these green walls with his army. In Overloon it is time for a stopover at Boompjes Restaurant. Enjoy a drink and snack before driving back to Boxmeer via Stevensbeek.
