Tour De Kuilen and Langenboomse Bossen

Your route starts at Brasserie & B&B De Valkhoeve Mill. De Kuilen is a recreational lake that was created by mining sand, gravel and other natural materials for a nearby brick factory. You can swim and laze there or explore the nature reserve at your leisure. North of De Kuilen you can walk straight into the Langenboomse Bossen, which mainly consists of conifers. Natuurmonumenten is trying to give it a more varied appearance to allow the protected viviparous lizard to return to the heathlands. In the autumn you will find many mushrooms in these forests, such as the fly agaric and the knight's mushroom. The nuthatch, the great spotted and the green woodpecker breed in the forests, but two badger setts also indicate the presence of these animals.
