From the cheese market to the polders
From Bodegraven you set course for Reeuwijk and Gouda. Gouda is a historic city with much to see. The cheese market in Gouda in particular is a real tourist attraction. Cheese is still traded here as it has been for centuries. A spectacular spectacle that you really must see. From Gouda you then cycle further to Woerden. Along the way you cycle through the marshy grasslands along the Reeuwijkse Plassen. This area is the perfect habitat for all kinds of birds such as geese. In the summer you can spot godwits here. Furthermore, the flowery ditch banks in this area are also beautiful when they are in bloom in the spring. The last part of the route runs from Woerden to Bodegraven through the polders.

The Court of Appreciation
On the edge of the town of Waarder you will find a farm where the Hof van Waarder used to be. This court was founded in the 13th century and housed a large farm of 210 hectares. Part of the estate was leased to local farmers. In 1672 the farm was set on fire by French troops. A new farm was later built on the remains of the court, which still stands today.
