Tour of Borne and Hengelo

The landscape in Twente consists of small-scale scenic landscapes that alternate with lush nature reserves and estates. Your route starts at Park Camping Mooi Delden. In the village of Delden you will immediately discover some sights, such as the Oude Blasius Church. From here you can cycle straight onto the estate of Twickel Castle, from the sixteenth century. Beautiful oak forests and avenues line the road to one of the most beautiful castles in the Netherlands. The picturesque town of Borne will also surprise you. The history of the town dates back to 1206, when it was first mentioned on an official deed. The name of Borne was then Burgunde. In Borne you can see the unique knock houses at Koppelsbrink 32-34. They date from 1786. In Deurningen you can see some authentic Saxon farms.
