Village route Sallandse Heuvelrug

Your route starts at Restaurant Cafe and Ice Cream Parlor Hancate 2.0. The majority of this route runs in a large loop through the De Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park. You can enjoy beautiful views on the hills in this area. You cycle back to the starting point of this route via Hellendoorn. At the start of the route you cycle past the former Egede castle, beautifully situated in the romantic Reggedal. Nowadays you will only find a remnant of the former manor and the associated farmyard here, but it remains a beautiful spot. The original manor was built here in the second half of the 14th century. Around the castle you will find the Egede estate, north of the Overijssels canal.
