We start in Bad Bentheim, with the famous castle.
After junction 53
Then you cycle past the Gildehauser Ven. This is the largest nature reserve in the county of Bentheim. There are two lookout towers that offer beautiful views of the area.
After junction 2
The idyllic Dreilandersee, a large lake, is a great place to relax. Here is the three'country\\\' border with the Netherlands, the county of Bentheim and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Then we drive to Gronau. A literally cross-border route! We pass close to the station in Gronau.
You cycle along the Dinkel river via the grounds of the former Landesgartenschau (a horticultural exhibition). This is how you get to Losser and its historic city center.
Then you cycle past the bird sanctuary'de Oelenmars\\\' with a bird watching hut, right on the border of the Netherlands and Germany.
Just across the border you pass the Franciscan monastery of Bardel.
Continue towards Gildehaus. The Ostmuhle is located at junction 18. Volunteers still grind the flour here.
