Description

The green village of Ruinen is the gateway to the Dwingelderveld National Park. The largest contiguous wet heathland area in Western Europe. Almost 4,000 hectares where several flocks of sheep graze. A breathtakingly beautiful landscape characterized by heath, forest, fens, swamp and drifting sand. You pass the Ruinen sheepfold and the lookout tower through the lively village of Dwingeloo with the striking church and see one of the oldest and most famous radio telescopes in the world. A varied route with many natural beauty and cozy Drenthe villages.
