Description
This nature reserve was created in 1920 by an Enschede textile baron in the style of an English estate. The crystal clear water of the streams comes from springs that bubble up from the ground in the Springendal. In Ootmarsum the old center has a cozy and historic atmosphere. One of the eye-catchers is the HH Simon and Judas Church from the thirteenth century: the only church in the Netherlands built in Westphalian Roman-Gothic style. Put your bike aside here, sit on a terrace and stroll around for a while! The Open Air Museum is worth it, with this short route you may have time for it.
