Cycling through nature near Enschede

There is plenty of natural beauty between Haaksbergen and Enschede. First you will discover the Aamsveen, the remnant of a raised bog area that once covered large parts of this region. Here you will see swamp forests, heathland, ponds and poor grassland. Further on you drive a bit over the German-Dutch border and you arrive at the next nature reserve: the Witte Veen. Then you cycle into Buurse, the only village on the route. While the previous nature reserves you passed through were still damp, in the Buurserzand you will find dry drifting sand, coniferous trees and old juniper bushes. Just past junction 43 you drive through Stroink Estate. The landscape here consists of forests, meadows and avenues. All those hours of cycling must have made you hungry.
