This walking route introduces you to the beautiful landscape south of Winterswijk. From junction Z87 you walk a bit along the Boven-Slinge. Next to this stream you walk through the Buskersbos, a small-scale nature reserve where medlar, bird cherry and ash grow. In the spring the ground is white with wood anemones. On the Slingeweg you pass a former schoolmaster's house (the Meistershoes). A few meters further on there is a replica of the school pump on the square. On unpaved paths you walk further along the fields. How nice and quiet it is here! At the end of the route you pass the Den Helder: a double undershot watermill whose history goes back to the Middle Ages. At Restaurant De Gulle Smid you can enjoy a drink and a tasty snack.
Tour tip; Hiking with kids! Routes up to 5 km are ideal
