Walking through the Manteling

This walk through the Manteling is relatively short, so you can also do it with children. First you walk towards Westhove Castle. This moated castle originally dates from the thirteenth century, but has been extensively renovated several times over the years. In front of the castle there is a park with a water feature and some old trees. A little later you walk a bit through the dunes. You take a trip to the beach, after which you walk into the deciduous forest that surrounds the Berkenbosch country estate. From the seventeenth to the nineteenth century, the elite spent their summers here. You will recognize the old estate design by the straight avenues and rhododendrons. In Museum Terra Maris you can learn more about the Zeeland landscape. And you can have a quiet drink in the café.
