Haspengouw is sometimes called the Tuscany of Belgium. With its rolling hills, fruit orchards, forests and stream valleys, it is wonderful to cycle here. In addition to natural beauty, this region also treats you to a rich cultural-historical past. You regularly pass old churches and square farms. And past cozy terraces where you can enjoy fresh regional pies. First you explore the southern part of Haspengouw with its open fields. From Heers the route leads you north and you will gradually see more forests and stream valleys. In Borgloon you pass the beautiful Town Hall from 1680. You drive along the former route of railway line 23 through the Sint Annabeek Valley. Finally, you will pass through picturesque Tongeren with its many centuries-old buildings. The route ends with a comfortable overnight stay at B&B De Dubbelmolen.
