Tour of Germany and the Rode Beek

Your route starts at Cafe d\\\'r Eck. Today you will discover the Rodebach-Rode Beek Nature and Landscape Park, a cross-border nature reserve of no less than 750 hectares that extends into Germany. The Roode Beek and Rodebach both flow through the park. The nature reserve is extremely varied and consists of streams, swamps, grassy meadows and forest. Nature restoration has created a beautiful adventurous area here. The former swamp area here was completely dried up until a few years ago. The streams had been turned into straight watercourses in concrete, to drain water from the mining areas and make the land suitable for agriculture. Local municipalities started working together to release the water again. Nature was restored on a large scale and you can now reap the benefits as a nature lover!
