If you pay close attention you will come across a castle several times along the way. The castles all have their own history, stories and mysteries and you can unravel them during this cycle route. Some castles are still inhabited and a princess even lives in Drakensteyn Castle.
The Eyckenstein Estate is beautiful and can be visited without obligation. Get off your bike and walk past the three-hundred-year-old oak trees. Can you imagine if you and your family lived on such a large estate?
Don't be afraid to deviate from the cycle route along the way and go deeper into the forest. Maybe you will find a hidden castle or a special place to stop for a nice lunch.
