This route starts at Pannenkoekenboerderij Kernhem. At Kernhem Estate you will see a country house in classicist style, from 1803. Lovers of Suske and Wiske know that a mourning damsel has been haunting the estate for centuries in search of her knight. The album Het Witte Wief also discusses the bloodstone, the boulder that is located at the beginning of the Doolhoflaan. The forests border the farmland around Doesburgerbuurt. The Doesburger Mill is a flour mill from 1620, one of the oldest existing windmills in the Netherlands. The Edese Bos West used to be part of the Kernhem Estate. You can still see this in the many beech avenues. You walk back via a small burial mound from the Bronze Age, around which a maze was built in the 18th century.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
