Your route starts at Pannenkoekenhuis De Boskabouter. In Terwolde you cycle past the small but charming medieval village church. The Matanze estate near Terwolde probably dates from the seventeenth century. It was a country estate, intended as a (summer) residence for wealthy people to live in and not as a defense structure. The IJssel is beautiful with its floodplains and the bustle of ships and pleasure boats on the water. Take a break from the Hanseatic city of Deventer, one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands. In the cozy city center you can fully enjoy the centuries-old streets and monuments. You can cross the IJssel again with a ferry. Just before Twello you see the Holthuis, a rectangular country house built in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. In the village itself you can admire the fifteenth-century village church.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
