Description
Your route starts at Stadshotel Doesburg & Restaurant De Kade in cozy Doesburg. This tour along the winding banks of the Oude IJssel takes you past numerous estates, castles and mills. Middachten Estate is one of the largest private estates in the Veluwe. In the Veluwezoom National Park (the oldest national park in the country!) you cycle through the starry forest of Hof te Dieren. On this centuries-old estate you will see wide avenues lined with deciduous trees. With approximately 160 inhabitants and city rights since 1344, Bronkhorst is the smallest town in the Netherlands. It has more of the appearance of a picturesque village, with authentic farms and a beautiful location in the middle of farmlands. Be sure to get off here!
