Description
Beautiful walking route from water sports village Langweer.
From the village you walk to Boornzwaag where you cross with the ferry. Turn right and follow the path along the Scharster-Rijn canal. You will automatically end up in the village of Scharsterbrug. You walk past a row of workers' houses. These were built at the beginning of the 20th century, when the factory of Zuivelconcern NV Hollandia was also located in the village. Later, Nestle was established there. You walk straight ahead to Huisterheide, a hamlet. Here you cross to the Vegelinbossen. These forests date from 1722. The then mayor Johan Vegelin van Claerbergen took care of their construction. You walk back through the woods towards Langweer.
