Your route starts at Sittard station. You will soon drive through Stadspark Sittard, beautifully situated in the Geleenbeek valley. In historic Elsloo you will pass the beautiful Elsloo Castle. Further on you will see Stein Castle, where the ruins of a marlstone keep from 1200 are located. Take a break at Gasterie de Fontein, right next to it! You will drive back via nice little villages and Geulle Castle. The current castle is only the outer bailey of the seventeenth-century castle that has been demolished. You will drive back via the Kollenberg. At the highest point, the Sint-Rosa Chapel was built in 1675, dedicated to Rosa van Lima, the patroness of Sittard. At the time of the goat riders, the robbers often met in the chapel.
