Tour of Epen and Mechelen

Your route starts at Hotel-Appartementen De Oude Hamer. You walk along the beautifully meandering Geul to Epen. The Geuldal is one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Netherlands, you will soon see why. The water has carved steep banks in this bowl between the hills, which can be clearly seen from the path along the bank. In Schweiberg, the centuries-old half-timbered houses give you the feeling that time has stood still a bit here. You will see many chapels, square farms and field crosses in the authentic rolling landscape. A little further on you will pass the Onderste Molen, which is also located on the Geul. This flour mill originally dates from the thirteenth century. In picturesque Mechelen you will see even more characteristic half-timbered houses, the church is located on a church hill.
