Tour of dunes and bunkers near Groot-Valkenisse

Your route starts at Holiday Park Duinzicht. This walk takes you through the impressive dunes between Zoutelande and Dishoek. In the hamlet of Groot Valkenisse you walk through the woods at the bottom of the dunes. It is nice and fresh and quiet here. That used to be different: you can still see many remains of the Second World War here. Several bunkers are hidden in the dunes. At the place where the walking path crosses the cycle path you will pass the characteristic dragon's teeth that prevented tanks from passing through. The dunes here are extremely high: the top is about thirty-six meters. Upstairs you can see that your effort was worth it: you have a beautiful panorama over the sea, Zoutelande and the polders of Walcheren.
