This walking route introduces you to Volendam. From the old port you walk west along the shore of the Gouwzee. Via Zuideinde you walk to a marina, after which you walk along a dike along the edge of Volendam. Here you have a beautiful view over the meadows, and you can also see the Kathammer. This polder mill originally dates from 1650. A little later you enter Volendam again. In the Kathammerstraat you will see the Stolphoevekerkje from 1658, the oldest and best preserved bell-shaped church in the Netherlands. On the Kerkepad you can take a look at the St. Vincentius Church from 1860. You walk across the Noordeinde along the rippling water back to the harbor. At Hotel Café Restaurant van den Hogen you can enjoy a delicious meal at your leisure.
