Walking through farmlands and the Kampina

From Gasterij Hotel Dennenoord you can take a varied walk through the countryside of the Brabant village of Esch. Part of the route takes you over unpaved paths through damp areas, so make sure you have good walking shoes. For example, you walk along the Kleine Aa, which was canalized in 1949. However, part of the stream was restored after the turn of the century. From junction 14 you can see how this has resulted in a beautiful meandering landscape. Further on you walk into the Kampina. This nature reserve gives you an idea of what large parts of Brabant used to be like. You see a mix of wet heathland with fens, deciduous forests and blue grasslands. What you can also enjoy here: the silence and fresh air! You walk back to the starting point through the hamlet of Luissel.
