Description

The Krimpenerwaard is an ancient peat meadow area that is partly below NAP. You really go back in time here in the Groene Hart, in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the Randstad. While walking through this open meadow landscape you will see many monumental centuries-old farms. You will also see the Kleine Molen, a former polder mill from 1620 in Bilwijk. You can spot the monumental Kempen church tower of Stolwijk from the polder. In 1946, the sagging tower was moved slightly straighter: from about 1.35 meters to only 85 centimeters out of plumb. Your route starts and ends at Beijersche barn, shop & tearoom. Here you can enjoy coffee and tea and take some cheese and regional products with you. A nice and tasty souvenir of this beautiful walk!
