Tour of Regte Heide from Nieuwkerk

Your route starts at the Nieuwkerkse Hoeve, where you can first have a cup of coffee before putting on your walking shoes. Here you are immediately in the beautiful old forests of the Nieuwkerk Estate. In the Belgian part of the hamlet, a border church was built in 1652 where Catholics from Tilburg practiced their faith. Note the old border marker along the road! Then you walk through the forest that surrounds the Regte Heide. It is an ancient area with prehistoric burial mounds. You will also get your money's worth here in terms of natural beauty. You will find a lot of variation in the hilly heathland area with high, dry places, but also wet surfaces. Back at the Nieuwkerkse Hoeve you can enjoy an extensive lunch or a tasty snack.
