Tour of Kruisbergsche Bossen from Hummelo

Your route starts at Hotel Café Restaurant De Gouden Karper in Hummelo. Hummelo has a protected village view, you will find a surprisingly nice historic atmosphere here. Then you walk to the Kruisbergse Bossen. The forest is characterized by the many height differences. The highest point is 30 meters above sea level. It is very old: Romans camped in these forests at the beginning of our era. You walk back via Laag-Keppel, a monumental hotspot. Here you see Keppel Castle, which originally dates from 1350. After this castle was destroyed in 1582, it was rebuilt in the seventeenth century. You walk back through the Sterrebos, which was built around 1750 north of Keppel Castle. From the Galgenbult, eight avenues lead through the forest.
