Tour of Fogelsangh state and Kruidhof

Your route starts at't Strunerke in the Friese Wouden. In this region you drive through a small-scale landscape of forests, hedgerows, grasslands and winding streams. Here you will encounter characteristic cross-house farms and monumental buildings. Such as Fogelsangh State, a stins from 1646 that you can visit. The beautiful surroundings of these stins are a nationally protected sight. On the way back you will pass De Kruidhof Botanical Garden, another nice place to stop for a break. This botanical garden has the largest collection of medicinal herbs in Western Europe and has been around for more than 80 years. The freely accessible sales garden is fun to stroll through. In Gerkesklooster you can see the Reformed Church. This fifteenth-century building was initially a monastery brewery, but was converted into a church in 1629.
