Tour Mark, Breda and Oosterhout

Further on you cycle a bit through the Markdal, an open meadow area where you regularly cycle right along the river Mark. You also pass Kasteel Bouvigne, a centuries-old hunting lodge. Get off in Breda where you can view the Grote Kerk, the Breda Castle and the Begijnhof. On the edge of Oosterhout you will find various sights, such as the OLV Abbey, which is still in use by the Benedictine sisters. Oosterhout itself is a nice old town to have a drink on a terrace and soak up the atmosphere. You cycle back through Boswachterij Dorst, a nature reserve that mainly consists of Scots pines that were planted on the heath at the beginning of the nineteenth century.
