Felsentour Herbstein

The activity of the former volcano is particularly impressive around Herbstein and Lanzenhain. The town of Herbstein is located on one of the rock massifs that withstood the weathering as hard cores of former chimneys. In the vicinity there are smaller volcanic rock eruptions. This route connects three of them. From the Diebstein (Einzelfelsen) it goes to Burgfrieden (Blockfeld) and finally to the Felsenruhe, a basalt breakthrough that appears as a large rock face. Two seats invite you to rest: after 5 km in the Seifengrund and after about 14 km. At the narrowest point there is a connecting path. So the route can easily be shortened.
