Tour of South Limburg castles from Valkenburg

Your route starts in Valkenburg, near the beautiful ruins that dominate the town. From here you cycle through Ingendael: a wonderfully quiet nature reserve with flowery grasslands through which the Geul meanders. You have a beautiful view of Sint Gerlach Castle. Vaeshartelt country estate is a nice place to get off and take a walk on the estate. Take a break in Geulle at't Gäöls Heukske! Then you make a nice meander through small hamlets such as the beautiful Catsop. A little further on you pass Wijnandsrade Castle, the western part of which dates from the sixteenth century. In Valkenburg you cross the Geul again, further on you see two castles along this river: Schaloen and Genhoes. You are being spoiled today!
