Tour of South Limburg Castles

Your route starts in the village of Klimmen. Via Walem, you cycle to Oud-Valkenburg. In the Geul Valley, you will see two castles close together: Schaloen and Genhoes. Further on, you cycle past Oost Castle, after which you discover the historic heart of Valkenburg. You will pass Den Halder, among others, a castle built of marl. The Geulpoort was rebuilt in 2014. Via the Ingendael nature reserve, you cycle to Meerssen. Next, you ride a short distance through Buitengoed Geul & Maas, a zone of country estates. Here you pass the eighteenth-century country house Meerssenhoven. Via Itteren, you cycle to Geulle aan de Maas. Here you can enjoy a nice lunch or drinks at Eetcafe de Pintelier Auwt Gaol. Then you cycle back into the hills. Here you can take another look at Wijnandsrade Castle.
