Discover the Loonse and Drunense Dunes

Your route starts at Duinhoeve Recreation Park. Here you can walk straight into the Loonse and Drunense Duinen, a sandy plain lined by forests that is home to many different animal and plant species that can withstand large differences in heat and cold. The Loonse and Drunense Dunes have been declared a National Park because of the extensive sand drifts. And not for nothing: living drifting sands are not found on such a large scale anywhere in Europe. Worth protecting! Besides the famous drifting dunes, you will also see extensive heathlands and quiet forests. Your walk will take you through the beautiful forests that surround the sand drift. You can fully enjoy the fresh air and views of the famous drifting dunes that give this area its nickname: the Brabant Sahara.
