Fish ladder route Diffelen - Junne

Your route starts at Camping De Kleine Wolf in the beautiful Overijsselse Vechtdal. You will encounter this meandering river a few times today! Via Stegeren you cycle to Mariënberg, where you cross the Vecht. The esdorp Beerze has many authentic Saxon farms. The hamlet of Beerze probably arose around 900. There were several farms here at that time, each with its own field, the so-called house camp. In the late Middle Ages, farmers practiced increasingly intensive agriculture. Beerze then turned into an esdorp village with a village green to gather the cattle in the morning and evening. At Junne you cross the Vecht again. You will pass the Vechtdal Highlanders Habitat, who knows, you might even spot these magnificent animals before you cycle back!
