Tour of castles near Vorden

Your route starts at B&B Bij de Rode Beuken. Just outside Wichmond you will pass Kasteel Suideras, which is located in a beautiful park-like forest. This country house was built in the neo-Renaissance style at the end of the nineteenth century. However, the estate dates back to 1326. Kasteel Den Bramel is a country estate that dates back to 1396. The current house was largely built between 1720 and 1726. Kasteel Vorden is located in a fairytale park forest with streams. Behind the coach house is a beautiful vegetable garden called the Hof van Hackfort. In 1400 there was already a house here, complete with bailey and moat. The current castle was built later. Kasteel Kieftskamp is surrounded by an extensive estate, which is open to the public. It was named after the lapwing, which used to be common here.
