Tour Bekendelle and Berenschot's Watermill

Your route starts at Hotel Cafe Restaurant"De Lindeboom\\\". Winterswijk National Landscape in the Achterhoek is a beautiful scenic landscape consisting of groves, avenues and hedgerows. Narrow valleys are intersected by meandering streams and characteristic old farms pop up again and again along the winding roads. You walk through the Bekendelle nature reserve, a deciduous forest where you will pass the Boven-Slinge stream. Restaurant Berenschot\\\'s Watermolen is located just before junction 30. The watermill dates from 1652 and still works. This is probably the only mill with a facade in Art Deco style. Of course you can rest indoors and enjoy a snack and drink; in the summer you can do this when the weather is good on one of the three terraces along the Slingebeek.
