Tour of Spaarndam and Zorgvrij Information Farm

Your route starts with a cup of coffee at Café Restaurant De Toerist in the lovely Spaarndam. The oldest part of Spaarndam is located on the western bank of the Spaarne. Here you can see the Kolksluis from 1280: the oldest working lock in Europe! Around the lock you look out over a beautiful area of centuries-old buildings. After a stop at your starting point for coffee or a delicious lunch, you walk to Informatieboerderij Zorgvrij, in the middle of Spaarnwoude Park. Admission is free. Here you can experience what life on an organic dairy farm entails. You can pet cows, tap milk and make cheese. You can also take a break at the pancake restaurant Onder de Platanen or see vegetables growing and harvesting in De Tuinderij!
