Spaarndam Tour and Zorgvrij Information Farm

Your route begins with a cup of coffee at Café Restaurant De Toerist in the charming town of Spaarndam. The oldest part of Spaarndam lies on the western bank of the Spaarne River. Here you'll see the Kolksluis (Sluice Gate) dating back to 1280: the oldest working lock in Europe! Around the lock, you'll look out over a beautiful area of centuries-old buildings. After a stop at your starting point for coffee or a delicious lunch, you'll walk to the Zorgvrij Information Farm, nestled in the heart of Spaarnwoude Park. Admission is free. Here, you'll experience what life on an organic dairy farm is like. You can pet cows, tap milk, and make cheese. You can also take a break at the pancake restaurant Onder de Platanen (Under the Plane Trees) or watch vegetables being grown and harvested at De Tuinderij (The Garden).
