Tour of the De Flaes lookout tower

Your walking route starts at Taverne In de Brouwerij, in the Brabant Kempen. Landgoed de Utrecht was once a vast heathland of which now some 400 hectares remain. A large part of the estate is planted with Scots pines and Douglas firs. In this quiet and vast area you really feel like you are in no man's land. You will discover the Flaestoren, a 24-metre-high lookout tower between the Flaes and the Goorven. From here you have a beautiful view of Landgoed de Utrecht and the fens. You can view these vulnerable natural areas well. You also look out over the Neterselse Heide. This natural monument is very varied and has more to offer than just heathland, with the fens, stream valleys, forests and rivers.
