Tour of the heathlands near Middelbeers

Your route starts at Taverne In de Brouwerij. Today you will make a beautiful round through various heathlands around Middelbeers. The Oirschotse Heide is a large heathland and drifting sand area, which is used as a military training ground. The terrain is usually freely accessible during the day. Then you turn off to the Landschotse Heide. This nature reserve is known for the many species of dragonflies that occur there - there are almost 30 of them. They are attracted to the open water, such as the Wit Hollandven. Cows often graze on the heath, a beautiful sight. You also cycle along the Oostelbeerse Heide and the Buikheide. Just before Westelbeers you will pass an idyllic spot on the Grote Beerze. There is a Maria chapel from 1637 here, although the tower was only built in 1937.
