Tour of the heathlands near Middelbeers

Your route starts at Taverne In de Brouwerij. Today you will make a nice tour through various heathland areas around Middelbeers. The Oirschotse heath is a large heath and drifting sand area, which is used as a military training area. The site is usually freely accessible during the day. Then you turn towards the Landschotse Heide. This nature reserve is known for the many dragonfly species that occur there - there are almost 30 of them. They come to open water, such as the Wit Hollandven. There are often cows grazing on the heath, a beautiful sight. You also cycle along the Oostelbeerse Heide and the Buikheide. Just before Westelbeers you pass an idyllic spot on the Grote Beerze. There is a Lady Chapel here from 1637, although the tower was only built in 1937.
