Tour of estates along the Vecht

Your route starts at Hotel and Restaurant De Barones. Dalfsen is also known as the Landgoederendrop. You will find beautiful estates, country houses and castles here. The castle route lets you enjoy expansive views and an idyllic landscape with estates and manors. At junction 82, on the Heinoseweg, you will find the idyllic manor house Den Berg. A manor house (havezathe or havesate) is a fortified house, castle or farm. In the 17th century, the manor house was a knightly good: a condition for knighthood. De Ruitenborgh had been an important manor house since 1320, but only a stately driveway reminds us of earlier times. Huize De Leemcule is a manor house from 1434. In the 18th century, De Leemcule was behind a wall with entrance gates. The drawbridge over the moat is still there.
