Walking from Wanssum to Geijsteren

In the vicinity of the Limburg villages of Wanssum and Geijsteren, you can enjoy wonderful walks through peaceful and lush nature reserves. Explore this beautiful area on the banks of the Meuse and get to know the two villages along this route. The Mill of Geysteren is located in the village of Geijsteren. This undershot watermill was built in 1897 and replaced a predecessor that stood on the same site. Geijsteren Estate is a beautiful, authentic area with old farmhouses and the Saint Willibordus Chapel. The Rosmolen is actually not a horse mill at all, but an undershot watermill dating from 1667. The mill was used as a grain mill for grinding rye. The mill house was damaged in 1944 when the small bridge over the stream was blown up.
