Walking through the Geuldal and Vijlenerbos

From Epen you can explore the hills in the border region with Belgium on foot. Put on sturdy walking shoes, because the route contains a number of calf bites. You can walk straight into the Geuldal, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the Netherlands. As you walk through the flowery meadows, you can hear the river gently babbling. Ideal to relax for a while! Then you climb into the Vijlenerbos. From the forest you descend towards Terbruggen. Here you walk through the Geuldal again, this time on the Belgian side of the border. On the water is the Vieux Moulin, a former water mill that now has a residential function. In Sippenaeken you can admire the Sint-Lambertus church from 1840, among other things. Back in the Netherlands you will see some monumental farms and half-timbered houses.
