Description
In the vicinity of Varsseveld you can cycle in peace through the Achterhoek landscape. The landscape here consists of fields and meadows that stretch as far as you can see. Here and there is a farm, but otherwise there is only natural beauty to be found.
The Teunis Mill
The starting point of this route is in the village of Varsseveld. The landscape around this village is characterized by the Varsseveldsekoppen, which are small differences in relief that originated in the last ice age. From Varsseveld you set course for Dinxperlo. Along the way you will pass the Teunismolen from 1822. This mill was used as a flour mill for a long time. The Teunismolen was successively restored in 1942 and 1986. The mill is now regularly put into operation by volunteer millers. From Dinxperlo you cross the German border in the direction of Bocholt and then you cycle via Aalten back to Varsseveld on the Dutch side of the border.

The start and end point of this route is Hotel Café Restaurant De Ploeg in Varsseveld. Settle down here for a cup of coffee or tea with cake, breakfast, lunch or a nice dinner. All dishes are prepared with fresh, seasonal products where possible.
Aalten
Aalten is another place you cycle through. On the east side of this place you will find beautiful nature reserves such as Landgoed Walfort, the Loohuisbos and the Kloosterbos. If you want to extend your cycling tour a bit, this region is definitely worth it. In the town itself you can admire authentic Saxon farmhouses that take you back to times long gone.
