Description

Wild boars, deer, roe deer, sheep, Scottish highlanders and scarlet cattle, they serve as furnishings for the landscape and contribute to the management of the area.

The animals have been roaming our landscape for centuries. Only the Scottish Highlander was only introduced here in the Veluwezoom National Park in 1982 as a 'large grazer'. This area is one of the oldest and largest contiguous areas of Natuurmonumenten.

During this cycle route from the Dutch Open Air Museum you will pass various locations where you can get acquainted with these animals.
